It is always a good practice to keep back-up files in case your main files get deleted, you get locked out of your account, or you lose your internet connection. It’s also useful for archiving and filing purposes.
Once you reach the end of a term, you can archive the course. Archiving a course means disabling all functionalities within that class, including limiting access to course materials. This can be used to better organize all of your classes and to prevent students from accessing materials from previous versions of your course. Here’s how you can do it:
View all of your classes by going to classroom.google.com.
To archive a class, click the Options button represented by three dots. From the popup, press Archive. A new popup will appear.
The popup will ask you if you want to archive the class. Press Archive to archive the class.
Once the course has been archived, it will no longer appear in your class list and your students’ class list.
