Assessments such as quizzes and assignments help teachers like you evaluate how well your students are doing in their class or course. These assessment tools can be linked to the learning objectives and competencies you set up in the course. In this section, you will learn how to create quizzes and assignments on Google Classroom.
Creating a quiz assignment in Google Classroom will automatically generate a Google Form, where you can easily edit the quiz to add sections, titles and descriptions and questions. Here’s how to do it:
Go to your Classroom.
Go to the Classwork tab.
Click Create.
Choose Quiz Assignment.
In the popup window, type the title. This is required. You can also add some instructions and attachments. You will immediately notice that a blank Google Form has been created.
Click the Google Form and proceed to the new tab to edit the quiz. You enjoy the additional Google Forms features such as adding point values, giving feedback, and releasing the student’s grade after they submit their answers.
Go back to your Google Classroom tab.
Take a look at the right panel. Complete setting up your quiz such as the due dates, scheduled quizzes and students who will be required to complete it.
Click Assign at the upper right once you are done.
If you want your students’ score to directly reflect inside Google Classroom, there’s one feature that can help you.
Set up your quiz assignment and Google Form quiz. You may refer to the previous steps to help you set up.
Remember the total number of points that you give in your Google Forms.
Go back to Google Classroom and you will see a Points tab on the right panel. Enter the number of points that you have allotted for the quiz created in Google Forms.
Enable the Grade Importing found in the lower left corner.
Click Assign at the upper right once you are done.
Under Classwork, you can see how many of your students have turned their assignments in and how many haven’t by selecting the specific quiz or assignment.
Click View assignment.
Click the import grade at the upper right corner.
You can also place the scores manually by entering the values in the left panel.
Adding new quiz questions to your quizzes can be done by going into the Google Forms quiz. Here’s how to do it:
Click on the specific Quiz assignment, then click the Edit button represented by three dots.
Once you’re on the editor, click the Google Forms button. You will be redirected to a new tab where you can edit your quiz questions.
Close the tab when you're done inputting all the questions. All questions will then be saved automatically.
